really enjoying not being there..

unfortunately for my listeners, i'm really enjoying not being in the studio live to do my show..

i have my select few that know to email me with requests, and now my founding Cult members have cellphones so that i can really talk to them anytime!

i like not being pressured to please anybody anymore.. i'm to the point that i don't care if people like it or not..
i'm doing MY show the way that I want and playing songs that I like.. and if nobody likes it, then they can just fuck off..
i know my Cult loves whatever i do, so pleasing them is pretty easy and really nice to have such unconditional support.. it helps my creativity when i'm allowed to just do my thing..

i know it's probably a bit of a bad attitude for a radio dj, but you know what? when you worry all the time about pleasing the public, it makes you so shaky and twitchy like Tweek from Southpark.. and then you really hate what you're doing becuz you're not doing it becuz you like it, you're doing it becuz they want it..
and you can't live like that.. it's too draining and non-productive and just torturous on you..

radio djs have become a bit of practicing psychologists taking phone calls from listeners and you really don't have the time to do that.. especially with a live show, unless that's the type of show you're doing, a talk show... and you need the input of listeners and callers..

well that's not my show.. i don't need callers.. except for my celebrity interviews which i haven't done in a couple of years and i need to get back to that.. to make the show more fun and interesting..

i have a list of horror celebrities that i need to call.. i should get to it..
